I thought, what an excellent couple of questions, that would make an excellent blog post. I will do that in the next day or two.  Then time slipped away.

Well now I’m back to answer those questions, here goes:

Trampanto started as a bit of a snipe at some gunzels. At the time, there was an argument over the replacement of poles on trams, particularly W class, with pantographs. The gunzels were complaining that the replacement takes away from the heritage value of the trams, and lots of other annoying things. As I was joining the forum at the time, I needed a name, so as a joke, I put in the name “trampanto”, and to my amazement (I have low standards) the name was not taken. So it became one of those names where it was orignial enough, and different enough, so it stuck.

A couple of years ago I did try changing it to “bigfatcow”, and even took out a web domain for that name. But the issue was, a porn group in America also had a bigfatcow domain, so I decided to just let that one dissolve into history.

As for TID BITS, yes, you are right, the term is TITBITS. It is an English word meaning “a small amount”. Also in English the word tidbit means a tasty morsel (of food, gossip, etc.). Use of the word tidbit in the USA though has the same meaning astitbit does in English, but the Pilgrims decided to use tidbit, because it wasn’t as offensive as using the word tit. It’s a bit like the American use of the word ‘fanny’ instead of ‘arse’, but of course the joke is on them with that one.

Now as much as I am a user of English as opposed to the bastardised American version of the language, I made an exception in this case. I know that if I had used titbits then every time I put up a post with that category, then many of the readers would be asking where photos of my tits were.

Finishing touches put on giant golf course

The ‘world’s longest’ golf course will officially open in October.

The 18-hole course will stretch more than 1,300 kilometres across the Nullarbor, with starting points in Kalgoorlie, in Western Australia, and Ceduna in South Australia.

The secretary of the Eyre Highway Operators Association, Alf Caputo, says six holes are still being finished and the course should be playable by August. more

Naturally being an Australian course, they have to be bastards in some sense. So they have made it a Par 3 course.

Police have been called in to quell angry crowds forced to wait more than seven hours for a flight at Perth Domestic Airport.

Around 100 people were reported swelling around the Qantas flight desk after QF 648, which was due to depart at 12.10am today, had still not left by 6.30am. more

Now this whole situation was best summed up by a Qantas spokesman:

“Following a strike, a series of mandatory inspections are required before the aircraft can be cleared to resume service. These are currently being carried out by our engineers,” Qantas spokesman Joe Aston said. “We apologise for the inconvenience to our customers but our priority is always safety before schedule.”

Do the idiots who were booked on this flight really think that what they do in their lives is that important, that Qantas would risk their safety? I get really pissed off with people who think they are more important than the bigger picture. How would it have gone if Qantas took the risk to get these people to their destination on time, but the plane suffered a massive electrical fault that crashed it, killing all on board? Would they be pissed off about being delayed for their skiing trip then?

Too many people these days put too much importance on their own bullshit. It’s about time idiots like this grew up a bit and thought about what they are really wanting others to risk.

‘Over the top’ memorial blamed for death

An elaborate roadside memorial commemorating four teenagers killed in a car crash has been removed after police said it may have caused a separate tragedy that claimed the life of a 21-year-old woman. more

Ok so someone died, well four people in this case, and it lead to the death of another woman. Sure people want to grieve, but do it elsewhere. These idiots blocked up the signage of an intersection, and it caused another death, but all they want to do is carry on about their crap being removed.

Now what I think should be done, is something they do in South Australia.  Yes I am saying something good comes out of South Australia, which is a fine State, unfortunately it is dragged down by the shithole that is Sleepy Town. But I digress.

What they do there is put up a roadside post. They are like the white ones you see to mark along the side of the road, but they come in two varieties, RED or BLACK.

The RED posts show where there has been incidents resulting in permanent injury. They are marked with the number of people injured for life.

The BLACK posts show where fatalities have occurred. They have markings on them for the number of people killed.

These posts are simple and to the point. They mean a lot more than some crappy flowers that will end up dying themselves. The use of the posts really make you think about what you are doing on the road, but don’t block your view.

HIV infection accused named

The identity of a HIV-positive man accused of intentionally infecting men and women with the virus can be revealed.

Name suppression for Glenn Richard Albert Mills has been lifted in the Auckland District Court after media and the police opposed suppression continuing.

The 40-year-old Auckland man had been charged with infecting three men – aged 17, 24 and 26 -with the virus and attempting to infect a fourth, aged 31. more

Anyone who is HIV-positive shouldn’t have their identity splashed all over the news. But if someone goes around intentionally infecting other people, I don’t see how they could have the right to have their identity suppressed. Now the civil libertarians will bleed about these people have rights, well what about the rights of those who are now HIV-positive because of Glenn Richard Albert Mills? Maybe if it was made known publically that if you intentionally infect someone else, you will be made publically known, these predators will maybe think twice about what they do.

A Victorian woman has been placed on the sex offender’s register for life after being jailed for sexually abusing four girls.

County Court judge Michael Patrick Bourke said 22-year-old Alicia Storrie’s crimes against her victims, aged 12 to 15, were exploitative and damaging. more

In the report, it says: A psychiatric report tendered in court said she was not paedophilic.

Ummm, bullshit. She sexually abused children, that makes her a paedophile. Get with the programme, it’s black and white, not hundreds of levels of grey. If you sexually abuse children, YOU ARE A PAEDOPHILE. For that, you give up your rights to be a part of society.
